形態特徵

• Small slender annual. Culms densely tufted with fibrous roots only, capillary to filiform, 3-12 (rarely to 25) cm tall, 0.25-0.5 mm thick, clothed at base with few sheaths.
• Sheaths 0.5-3 cm long, membranaceous, pale, often tinged with reddish brown on lower part, orifice obliquely truncate with pointed tip.
• Spikelet ovate to lanceolate-ovate, 3-7 mm long, 1.5-1.8 mm wide, rather acute at apex, subdensely .to subloosely flowered, frequently proliferous at base.
• Glumes elliptic to ovate-elliptic, obtuse at apex, 1-1.2 mm long, membranaceous, pale, midvein green. Achenes obovate, 0.7-1 mm long, obtusely trigonous, maturing yellowish, smooth or weakly cancellated with oblong epidermal cells; style 1.5 mm long, 3-fid, base narrowly deltoid. 0.3-0.5 mm long and 1/2-1/3 as wide as achene body. Hypogynous bristles 6, surpassing achene body, retrorsely scabrous.

• 台灣 : Common in rice fields and on other wet grounds.
• 世界 : From Japan to India and to Malesia.
